There’s something beautiful about Black and White photography. More artistic? A romance to it? Reminiscence of bygone days? Whatever it may be, it forces the eye to view the world a little differently. Here, I have captured a delightful array of life in monochrome. Enjoy.

Salida is a small historic mountain town teeming with big charm. Shops, art galleries and restaurants line the main street, while Victorian houses flank the sides. There is a large park overlooking the Arkansas River, and the town is shadowed by 14,000-foot-snow-capped peaks and surrounded by small farms and lovely countryside. A day in Salida is sure to leave you smiling.

St. Elmo lives up to its reputation as being one of Colorado’s best preserved ghost towns. This 1880’s town has a lively, colorful mining and railroad history and is an official National Historic Site. Along Main Street you will find a Guest House offering overnight accommodations and breakfast service with modern amenities for a quintessential Colorado experience. Although its altitude is just under 10,000 feet, getting to St. Elmo is relatively easy. The Chalk Creek runs alongside a gravel road lined with aspen trees and big spruce, making it an absolutely beautiful drive from Buena Vista.
