When it comes to photographing dogs, some dogs and some breeds are just naturally loved by the camera. I never set out to photograph dogs, and I will admit although I like dogs, I don’t consider myself a “dog person”. Weird, because I can’t stop the urge to photograph them. I will even go as far to set out on a walk with camera in hand, in hopes I come across a dog and its owner. Here you will find some adorable dogs, including my own little Sydney. Sydney is a miniature red merle Aussie, with one blue eye and one brown.
This handsome fella is Tasman, who happens to live next door to me. Occasionally, I have the pleasure of checking in on him while his parents are away. After roaming the backyard one day, engaged in doggy duty, Tasman settled on the patio and watched something in the distance for a moment. Uninterested in my close lens, I captured his profile. I love the soulful expression in his gaze. Peaceful & contemplative.
This cutie is Duncan. Duncan is a Boston Terrier owned by Lori Lewis. Here Duncan is exhibiting the classic “head tilt” at the attention of his owner as she announces, “Wanna go for a walk?”
On a snowy day, I came across this beauty. There is something about an Aussie that I can’t resist wanting to photograph. Be it their obedience to their herd (aka “adopted family”), intelligence, or just keen observance to their surrounding, I will always have a spot in my heart for this breed.
